Bullying is when a person is exposed to negative actions on the part of one or more other persons, and he or she has difficulty defending him or herself. Bullying can be a one time event, although it is often a repeated behavior. Bullying is an intentional, negative act. Bullying involves a power imbalance.
It is the right of every person in the Wellpinit School District to be safe from physical and verbal harassment or bullying. Our school is committed to ensure that every member of our school community enjoys the right to participate in school life at its fullest. All instances of harassment or bullying violate that right and are totally unacceptable. To help us accomplish this goal the Wellpinit School District is now using the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. The principles of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program are as follows:
