RFP FOR a 5-year LONG-DISTANCE Service
The Wellpinit School District is seeking a contract to supply long-distance telephone service, with the following features:
- low-cost reliable long distance service
- ability to interface with the present Inter-Tel PBX system, as well as any future PBX system from a major provider
- ability to provide long-distance calling code numbers for individuals within the organization
- ability to add, delete or modify an individual's calling code easily
- ability to provide monthly telephone bills broken down by calling number code. The report should have one page for each person's calling code and a listing of all their calls
- ability to provide a calling code for long-distance calls within the local area code [509]
- ability to block long-distance calls within the local area code unless they use a calling code
- ability to block certain numbers, including 900 numbers
- ability to readily add or block future calling codes as they become available
- we are looking to enter into a five-year contract, but we would also consider month-by-month tariff services as an option
DETERMINING FACTORS FOR AWARDING THIS CONTRACT
- Cost (both initial and sustained)
- Ability to provide desired reports
- The details of the exact service set proposed.
- The kinds of unique or distinguishing features that can be provided
- Reputation of firm in both performance and service
- A willingness to work through the FCC eRate program
- Other Services Provided
BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS
The proposer must be an established long-distance provider, and have the resources to enter into a long-term contract.
PROCESS FOR RFP SUBMISSION
The following procedure should be followed for responding to this
RFP:
- An estimate of the long-distance costs
- Evidence that the product line meets the determining factors
for awarding of the contract must be submitted with quotes.
- Prices must be guaranteed up to 200 days from the date
of contract award. The Wellpinit School District reserves the right to order
the equipment anytime during that time period in their efforts to
maximize the availability of Universal Service Funds.

Vendor must work through the Federal eRATE System, the Universal Service Fund, in order to receive the Federal portion of the cost of the items.
- All bills are to be paid when services are satisfactorily completed.
